Multicultural Management seen by the Project Management Club

26 February 2019 Events

Pr. Sandra Walker and Pr. Anke Middelmann, experts in multicultural management share many advises with alumni during the last Project Management club event in Lille on February 7th and in Paris on January 16th ! (photos)

Alumni and students have the opportunity to share their multicultural experiences with a worldwide map, allowing to have a wide idea of multicultural specificities concerning business in each country.

"Every project manager has their own hilarious stories of cultural misunderstandings, etiquette errors and scary social obligations! All notions of a flat world fade away once a manager has to navigate an intercultural project. The sheer number of cultures and nuances within any social group means that any project manager wishing to avoid stereotypes needs to invest in cultural readiness: developing a curious open attitude is a must. See ‘Openness’ on the Big 5 personality inventory! Projects are so situational that one’s own direct experience or that of more culturally-savy colleagues is your best source of practical tips. Special thanks to our 2 speakers for their enthusiasm and the alumni ambassadors team (Johan Mallet, Camille Hache, Sorin Lazar, Lamia Moussaoui, Magali Cauet)!
